MoU signed between SUST and Bilkent Unicersity, Turkey

 

 

Professor Dr. Md. Elias Uddin Biswas, treasurer of SUST, Sylhet visited Turkey on 20-23 September, 2011 on the request of Bilkent University. During that academic visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was singed between SUST, sylhet and Bilkent University, Turkey for academic collaboration. Professor Dr. Md. Elias Uddin Biswas, treasurer of SUST and Professor Dr. Orhan Aytur, vice rector of Bilkent University signed the memorandum on behalf of respective universities. Then Professor Dr. Elias Uddin Biswas described about academic and administrative activities of SUST in his speech.

Under the terms of MoU, Faculty members and researchers in the fields of science and engineering of SUST and Bilkent University will be encouraged to establish collaborative research endeavors. Both universities will promote cooperation in the area of recruiting Bangladeshi students who have fulfilled requirements toward a B.Sc or B.Eng. degree to Bilkent University for M.S. and Ph.D studies in the field of science and engineering.

 

Professor Md. Nizam Uddin from SUST will act as the coordinator of this MoU for the SUST. Concerned depart of SUST will nominate the students through a specific procedure.

 

On the occasion of signing MoU, Dr. Zulfiqur Rahman, Ambassador of Banmgladesh to Turkey, Professor Md. Nizam Uddin of SUST (presently researcher in Bikent), Professor Dr. Levent Onural, dean, faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Hasan Erten, dean, faculty of Science and Dr. Erman Bengu, Assistant Professor of Chemistry department were present there.
