Welcome Address by the Convener

The School of Applied Sciences and Technology is going to organize a Conference on Engineering Education, Research and Innovation. This conference is different from those organized under a specific theme. It is organized by the faculty members of different departments under the School and will deal with problems associated with teaching-learning and research in the field of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Petroleum and Geo-resources Engineering, Food and Tea Technology, and Architecture. We would be pleased having participation of educationalists, scientists, technologists, engineers, entrepreneurs and policy-makers associated with the process of engineering education, research and application. We hope that the participants will enjoy an excellent atmosphere to exchange different views on engineering research and education. New ideas will emerge for the enhancement of engineering education in the country. Old research teams will be strengthened and new multi-disciplinary collaboration program will be initiated. The relation ‘Science-Production’ will be intensified in the country. New paths will be found out for teachers, students and researchers to contribute more and more to the sustainable development of the country.

I welcome all participants to this event and believe that the conference will be converted into ‘a fair of experts from different branches of engineering sciences’.
