Biography
Kaysar Hamid is a Chemical Engineer, researcher, and academician from Chattogram. He completed both his Bachelor’s degree and Master’s by Research in Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science (CEP) from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). He is currently serving as a Lecturer at the same institution and has nearly three years of industrial experience as a Process Engineer at Petromax Refinery Limited.
During his academic career, he secured first position in all four undergraduate years with a CGPA of 3.94/4.00, the highest in the history of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer Science at SUST. He achieved a perfect CGPA of 4.00/4.00 in his Master’s by Research. He also secured first position in the Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited Assistant Manager recruitment examination under Petrobangla. In recognition of his academic excellence, he received the Best Academic Performance Award for four consecutive years and the prestigious UGC Scholarship for securing first position among all departments under the School of Applied Sciences & Technology at SUST.
His research focuses on functional materials and nanomaterials for energy, environmental, and sensing applications. His areas of interest include energy conversion and storage, photocatalysis, adsorption technologies, wastewater treatment, waste-to-energy systems, biosensors, and advanced material synthesis and characterization.
Kaysar Hamid has published several research articles in internationally recognized journals and has presented multiple papers at national and international conferences.
Alongside his academic activities, he has worked on industrial process design and optimization projects at Petromax Refinery Limited, including the design of a total naphtha fractionation unit, an LN sweetening unit, and an LPG recovery unit from flare gas using Aspen HYSYS and detailed equipment design calculations. He also contributed to the development of a faster and more efficient product delivery system through process optimization and equipment modification.
His professional objective is to bridge academic research and industrial practice through innovative and sustainable chemical engineering solutions for modern energy and environmental challenges.
