Biography

Md. Shahgahan Miah has been working as an Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet- 3114, Bangladesh. He finished PhD in Health Social Sciences (Medical Anthropology) under the Department of Society and Health, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mahidol University, Thailand. He got ‘The 2017 Mahidol Postgraduate Partial Scholarship’, ‘President Living Allowance Scholarship’ and ‘Partial Funding for Graduate Student Thesis’. Prior to this, He completed Master of Social Sciences in Anthropology and Bachelor of Social Sciences in Anthropology, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. He worked for ICDDR, B, ActionAid Bangladesh, BNWLA, and SIAM Health care prior to join in the faculty position. He has so far published quite a few articles in reputed national as well as international journals. He has successfully accomplished some research projects sponsored by University Research Center, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and Access to Information (A2i) of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. He has also presented research papers in a few national and international conferences.
