Overview
Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) was established in 1986 as the first university of its kind in Bangladesh. It officially began its journey on 13 February 1991 with just three departments—Physics, Chemistry, and Economics—supported by 13 faculty members and 205 students. Over the years, SUST has expanded significantly, now comprising 7 schools, 27 departments, 2 institutes, and several centers. The faculty has grown to 597 members, while student enrollment has reached 8,937. Moreover, the university extends its academic reach through an affiliated college serving 716 students.
