    Biography:

    Dr. Alam is a professor of economics at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. He earned a Ph.D. in economics from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in Illinois, USA. Before pursuing his Ph.D. at NIU, he obtained an MA in Economics in International Trade and European Integration from Antwerp University in Belgium. Additionally, he obtained a bachelor's degree in economics and law, followed by a master's degree in economics (graduating with a first-class first position) from the University of Chittagong in Bangladesh. Dr. Alam's research interests include macro-financial economics, real estate finance, housing economics, applied time series and financial econometrics, commodity markets, and empirical asset pricing. His research has been published in various academic journals, including Empirical Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the International Review of Financial Analysis, the Investment Analysts Journal, and the Handbook of Climate Change Management. He has also presented his academic research at numerous international conferences, including the American Economic Association, the Midwest Economic Association, the Illinois Economic Association, and the annual meetings of the International Atlantic Economic Society. He likes open-source programming languages such as R, Julia, and Python. He is available for collaborative research projects in macro-finance, empirical finance, FinTech, real estate finance, applied time series analysis, and machine learning modeling.
